A working prototype and pitch built in 48 hours
Sprint to Innovate brought interdisciplinary student teams together at RRC Polytech to solve business challenges supplied by industry organizations.
Our team, SprintSphere, chose the CIPS Manitoba challenge and had roughly 48 hours to understand the problem, develop a proposed solution, build a prototype, and prepare the final presentation.
The challenge
Make fast-growing AI knowledge useful to a workforce
The CIPS challenge focused on a problem many organizations face: valuable AI information is growing quickly, but employees need help finding trustworthy material in a useful format and at the right time.
We approached the problem as both a knowledge-discovery challenge and a learning-experience challenge.
Our solution
An interactive knowledge experience built around relevance
- Personalized content recommendations based on current work, learning goals, and available reading time.
- Conversational knowledge search with supporting source context.
- Concise content briefs and guided learning paths for faster understanding.
- Clear analytics and discovery tools that show how knowledge is being used.
- Human review concepts that keep content quality decisions visible and accountable.
My contribution
Product thinking, prototype development, and presentation support
- Helped turn the open-ended challenge into a focused product concept and demonstration plan.
- Designed and built key parts of the interactive React prototype.
- Shaped the AI-assisted recommendation, search, and learning experiences.
- Prepared the product demonstration and helped communicate the solution to judges.
Technical foundation
A rapid, production-buildable React prototype
The prototype uses React, JavaScript, Vite, TanStack Router, Recharts, reusable CSS variables, and responsive layouts. We used realistic content and interaction states to evaluate the full product concept within the competition timeframe.
Result
CIPS challenge winner and second place overall
SprintSphere was selected from five teams as the winner of the CIPS Manitoba challenge. We then presented against the winning teams from the other four challenges and received second place overall.
